千人影像汇聚了一千位年轻人，每个人都向世界提出了一个问题。围绕这些问题，沈博伦与他们展开了深度对话，捕捉他们的视角、情感与故事。这些对话不仅放大了个体的声音，也共同编织出一幅反映时代精神与社会剧烈变迁的群像。

大部分参与者出生于上世纪八九十年代——他们是完整见证中国改革开放时代的第一代人。他们代表着一群在政治转型与媒介变革交汇处摸索前行的年轻人。项目开展之初，关注点更多是个体的困境；然而随着时间推移，这些私人困惑逐渐显现为更广泛的公共困境。每一个声音虽从私密、个体的角度进入，但最终汇聚成一面公共的镜像。

从这个角度来看，千人影像不仅是一份影像记录，更是一种人类学式的探索——一次对一代人在剧烈变动年代中如何理解自我、社会与未来的考察。项目也早已超越静态的档案，延展为一种不断演进的多维度艺术实践：它的形式扩展至表演、影像装置与社会性参与之中，在其中个体与集体不断相互折叠、彼此映照。

展出包括2016年中国北京的炎黄艺术博物馆春季展览、2015年芬兰赫尔辛基节的"25x25"单元及2015年广州纪录片节等。该项目引起了媒体的广泛关注，包括《纽约时报》等媒体的报道。

1000 Questions gathered 1,000 young individuals, each posing a question to the world. Around these questions, Bolun engaged in deep conversations with the participants, capturing their perspectives, emotions, and stories. These dialogues not only amplified individual voices but also wove together a collective portrait reflecting the spirit of the era and the tremors of societal transformation.

Most participants were born in the 1980s and 1990s — the first generation to experience the Chinese economic reform era across their entire lifetime. They represent a group of young people navigating the intersection of political shifts and media transformations. At the outset, the project focused on personal predicaments; over time, these revealed themselves as public predicaments. Each voice entered the conversation from an intimate, individual standpoint, and together they converged into a public mirror.

Through this lens, 1000 Questions emerges not only as documentation but as an anthropological exploration of how a generation understood itself, society, and the future in a time of dramatic change. Extending beyond static records, the project has continued to evolve as a multidimensional artistic practice — branching into performance, video installations, and social engagement — where the individual and the collective continually fold into one another.

Exhibitions include the 2016 Yan Huang Spring at Yan Huang Art Museum in Beijing, the 2015 "25x25 — Close Encounter" at the Helsinki Festival in Finland, and the 2015 Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival. The project has garnered extensive media attention, including coverage by The New York Times.
