Since the birth of Bolun Shen's daughter, he has been recording monthly conversations with her, always beginning with the question, "Who are you?" These dialogues encompass deeply personal exchanges, ranging from her early babbling sounds to their quarrels and her moments of sadness, from the revelation of her secrets to the unfolding of her imaginary worlds.
As the project has progressed, their conversations have gradually deepened. Through these interactions, she has explored her identity — not only as an individual but also as part of her family and even her country. At times, they have even reversed roles, with her taking on the position of the interviewer, questioning Bolun about his views on life and the world around them.
Through their honest and open dialogue, Bolun and his daughter have revealed some of the most unspoken, troubling, and unsettling memories and experiences, as well as moments filled with warmth and tenderness.
