This performance is inspired by the classic 1978 Swiss film The Swissmakers and offers a renewed reflection on Switzerland's immigration issues in recent years.
The performance operated as a Jú (局), a pre-configured civic setup and staged "trap". Bolun appropriated the format of a Cantonal Migrant Session and faked one in the theatre, inviting the Swiss audience to vote on his naturalization. Before the event, he meticulously designed and distributed mock official flyers, posters and press passes, and borrowed a ballot box from Basel City Hall to blur the line between art and civic reality. During the performance, Bolun delivered a speech in Chinese, translated strictly by a German translator, discussing democracy, immigration, and his identity as a Chinese artist. By positioning himself as an "applicant", the setup shifted the audience's role from passive theatergoers to active decision-makers.
The final on-site voting result was 25:1 in favor — with the sole opposing vote cast by a Chinese immigrant who had already acquired Swiss citizenship.
